Post: land contract/401k question

Posted by m on 10/27/06
we got your name from a search of the AOL directory. we hope you do not mind. we have found a house we love and due to our past poor credit.......need to do a land contract to keep the payment affordable right now...while we are slowly rebuilding our credit. we really need another bedroom as our 2 children are sharing a room right now. we have the down payment but its in our 401K and we had called and they sent us the paperwork. The website just says we can use the money for the purchase of our primary residence. So we wrote an offer to purchase etc...... Now we see in the fine print on the paperwork that "land contracts are invalid". :( Is there any way around this? Do the words "land contract" legally have to be on the offer to purchase? Thank you very kindly
