Post: quit claim deed

Posted by brad on 3/25/08

My grandfather deeded me a few acres to build a house on.
We had the quit claim deed signed we were just waiting for
the legal description from the surveyor to file the deed
with the county. In that time my grandfather passed away and
now the property is in probate does that invalidate my deed
since it has not been filed? or since it was signed and
notarized before he died is it still valid? We live in the
    state of Tennessee.
