Post: Student Has a Question for Professionals!

Hi, I am about to start my first semester as a stenography
student at NYCI. NYCI offers students a beginner machine for
$1,600. What I am debating is whether or not I should buy
something like the élan Mira A3 from another source, rather
than purchasing the beginner machine from the school. I
would have to upgrade once my education is complete anyway,
but I'm not sure if the advanced machines are much different
from the student models.

Would using an advanced machine make picking up the skill
more difficult? Or would it not make a difference?
