Post: Layed off, starting over, is Court Reporting a good choice?

Posted by Daryl Mahan on 11/05/08

I'm in my early 40's and am being forced to start a new
endeavor. I'm very interested in this profession, as it
seems to offer a great variety of options. I live out in
the sticks so an online school is what I'm considering. I
have plenty of time to put in to it and am very motivated
to succeed. What is the truth about this field? I
understand it's not easy and will require focus and
dedication, but are the jobs really out there? Also, I'm
looking at CRID and Prince Institute for their online
degree programs. They both seem reputable and are
accredited by the NCRA. Does anyone have any inside info or
advice about either school? Any recommendations as far as
    other schools to look at?
    Thanks.
