    Sigh. I consider myself to be middle class to start with. I sure
    hope your prediction is wrong. As for the importing of nurses,
    yes, you're right, I've seen it first hand, but it's nothing new.
    During the nursing shortage in the early 80's probably 20% (just
    my guestimate from personal experience) of the nurses in some
    areas of the country were foreign. The communication gap was
    horrible. It's much the same now in some places. Some of the
    imported nurses don't understand English enough to even respond to
    patients' questions! But on the other hand, with the current
    nursing shortage what else can you do? Hospitals must be
    desparate to risk the liability of a lawsuit when the foreign
    nurse messes up. A friend in Ireland said not long ago they are
    so desparate for nurses they're importing from everywhere too and
    paying huge bonuses and benefits.
    Maybe not bankruptcy, maybe nursing. :)
