Now that they see their own jobs getting > outsourced, etc., they cry foul. Guilty. Am I really a Marxist? I don't think so since my underlying philosophy has an ethics of rational selfish interest and individualism. Up until three-and-a-half years ago I would have said, "I'm a student of Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism." Today I claim to advocate a form of moderated capitalism that would include socialized medicine. My view is that the primary factor that determines whether or not a nation enjoys prosperity is the degree to which the general populace is rational and not merely whether or not the nation is predominantly capitalist. > I mentioned teaching before. why don't you consider that? do you know that in most > countries, even advanced countries in Europe and Asia, you have to be in the top 1&37; of > college grads to get a teaching job? Teaching is an option and I do like the idea of only having to work for 10 months per year. I could then try to offer legal services on the side. I'm probably earning more than I would as an entry-level teacher right now and I still hope to try working as a full-time solo in the future. I found your comments about teachers in Finland and Japan rather interesting. Top 1%, really? I wonder if they receive good compensation.
