some of you grumble that you're not getting ahead in life in spite of your high IQ and hard work. I have developed a conventional success predictor for professionals like lawyers: For each of the following traits, give yourself a 10 or 0, or a 5 if it's too difficult to go one way or the other: 1) physical attractiveness: 10 if good-looking, 0 if unattractive 2) energy level: 10 if energetic, 0 if low-energy 3) IQ: 0 to 30 points, lawyers give yourselves the maximum 30 points 4) manipulation skills: 0 or 10 5) parents' socioeconomic class: 10 if rich parents, 0 if poor parents 6)communication skils: 0 or 10 7) ambition: most lawyers can give themselves 10 points 8) dominance/leadership: 10 or 0 let's take Blue as an example: he gets 30 points for IQ, 10 points for ambition, another 10 points from one of the other categories for a total 50 points. I would argue that 50 points would lead to average income/success in life, thus Blue's frustration. I believe that you need to score 70+ to be a successful professional, and 90 points to become very successful (a Biglaw partner for example.) Some of you would score below 50, and end up as struggling solo's, starving intellectuals, etc. Score yourselves and see where you're going in life.
