No problem, L. Thanks for clarifying. I suspect that one positive
aspect of being competent and certified in a blue collar trade is that
it wouldn't be too difficult to obtain a job once an opening had been
located. Obviously, as a law school graduate a prospective employer
would assume that you are a responsible, smart, and mature person, far
beyond the people they would normally employ. Most importantly, I
believe that the primary criteria in hiring would be, "Can he do the
job?" and not "Does he have good looks?", "Does he give me that warm
people-person/salesman feeling?" , "Are there any blemishes on his
resume?", "Did he ever suffer a period of unemployment or
underemployment?". In other words, based on my very limited experiences
I suspect that less BS would be involved. It would be something that
one could do while looking for legal work or while also practicing law
on the side, especially if the job provided benefits. Also, being one
of the smartest employees in the shop, it might be easier to move up.
