Clients often don't understand that if the defense and prosecutor work well together that they are better represented than if they're constantly butting heads. One of my clients wanted a new attorney when he saw me standing in the doorway laughing with the prosecutor (totally unrelated to any case in court that day). And the 3 hr. thing is a bit over the top if the court's used to running on schedule, but in a couple of courts around here it's a cattle call, first come first served so I'm used to spending a couple of hours standing around waiting.
