Post: Quasi-Solo for 2007

Posted by rrr on 12/30/06
An Update for the non-trolls... So after mulling it over, I've decided to go back to Practice. I didn't want to go solo so I started looking for an Attorney Job. As I started looking, I started running into solos and small firms that were interested in a part-time addition but not full time. So now I am working as a part -timer. Which suits me fine for now. Compensation... $40 per hour billed. I use their office, their computers, their printers, etc. while working on their work. If the chemistry is right, it might be useful to work out some kind of arrangement where I bring in work to the firm and give them a percentage to pay for overhead used. Haven't thought through the percentage yet. I'm going to scope out office suites in the general area to see what my minimal overhead would be if I went solo. Technically, I'm not sure if this is "going solo", I think its mediary between being an Associate for a Firm, and being Solo. At this point I don't have any particular marketing plan, but then again I have no overhead.
