my fiancee and I jointly rented an apt. we just renewed the
yearly lease in march 2009. he decided to change the locks
on me in june when I was 8mo pregnant against the lease.
the landlord refused to get involved because he's friends
with both our families. the civil court said they couldn't
do anything and same with the cops and the constable. from
what my ex has told me him and his new gf signed a new
lease in july...even though I never signed anything to be
off of the lease. I didn't have any money to get a lawyer
then because I had to buy all the baby stuff I needed since
I couldn't have my baby shower anymore. what can I do? my
stuff is still there and I've been bouncing between
residences. am I legally allowed into the apt still till
march?
