Re: Sunbeam heating pad

    Hit the wrong button on previous response. Last night before
    getting into bed I turned on my heating pad and the cord shorted
    where it connects to the controller. With a blue flash it burned
    my fingers and sent up a cloud of smoke. The cord has always been
    stiff and this incident severed the cord from the controller. This
    could have been a much more severe problem had it occurred with
    the unit in the bed with us. It might have started a bed fire or
    caused more severe injuries. I received blistering burns on my
    fingers and palm. The materials used in this Chinese product seem
    to be below acceptable standards for a device that can cause such
    injuries. Is there some recourse?
