Post: Is this grounds for a suit--can I win for admitted battery?

    Posted by Ouch! on 3/18/05

Recently I was assaulted and the person who did it just
pled no-contest in municipal court. When he assaulted me he
left abrasions and brusing, and I and the police have
    pictures of it.

Now that he has plead no-contest, do I have a case to go
after him in civil court in Oklahoma? I did not go to the
doctor after the battery, but I am afraid to walk down the
street toward his house for fear of retribution. What do
you think; can I also sue--and win--in civil court?
