Post: Workmans comp Lawyer or Personal Injury?

    Posted by Confused on 8/31/05

I fell over some cardboard boxes left on the floor in the
breakroom at work. I did fillout an incident report and
do have a witness. I didn't go to the Dr righ away
    because I felt I just had a sprain. A month later I
continued to have pain (worse). I asked my mgr if there
was a particular clinic that I should use. She said I
could go to any Dr I chose. I got an xray using my own
ins which is through my husbands job. The HR Mgr called me
and left a voice mail message saying not to use my own Dr,
use one of theirs. Since their was nothing broken I
figured my injury would improve. 3 weeks went by with my
condition getting worse. I got fired for not meeting my
quota. 2 days after my termination I went to their Dr as
she (the HR Mgr). I had another xray (approx2.5 months
after my fall), the Dr said the xray was okay but he need
to do some further test. Long story short. My former job
would not approve any further test. Finally (6 after my
fall I went to my own Dr. I have to have surgery, I have
to also have pins in my bone due to it shifting. The Dr
said that if I had surgery within 3 mos of my injury I
would still had needed surgery but no pins, because my
bone would not have had time to start shifting. Now, all
that to ask should I have contacted a PI Lawyer or
    Workmans Comp Lawyer?
