I found this thread when I was trying to google TCF
Foreclosure policy. I made the mistake of refinancing with
TCF lured in by their "no closing cost" refinances. I am in
sales and can't always pay by the due date- the 11th of
every month. Their collectors are very aggressive and call
immediately if you are past paying the due date. I was
never more over 30 days late and I paid all of the late
fees. I paid one day over the 15 day "grace" period and I
received a default "acceleration letter" in the mail They
indicated they would stop accepting payments. I would like
to know what's up with this bank? Their customer service is
abysmal. The aggressiveness of the collectors is new to my
experience. No doubt, I am having a tough time paying the
bills recently, but I am trying to turn things around and
this letter seemed to be not only overly aggressive but
maybe illegal. I would like to hear from others that are
experiencing similar problems with this bank!
