Post: is this worth pursing?

Two months ago a shooting took place at my place of employment. Two people were killed. They weren't just co- workers, but friends as well. Several days later we learned that this whole incident could have possibly been prevented. The man who did the shooting, had told people at his place of employment (at lunch time) he was going to go get his guns and kill his wife. Another employee who overheard the conversation went to the foreman. It is a large company and to protect the people in the plant his badge was de-activated so he could not re-enter the facility. They had another shooting(which involed loss of life) at their plant a few months prior to this event. My place of employment is fairly close to the other facility and many people ther knew his wife and where she worked. Was there any negligence on their part for not notifying us of the possible danger or not calling the police and reporting it. Everyone who was working at the time is experiencing mental breakdowns due to the emotional stress, but on the other hand can't afford to lose their jobs. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
