Post: Workplace Chemical Exposure

The yr. was 1992 when a FCCU unit in a oil refinery installed closed cyclones during a turnaround. As a result to this a large amount of steam was needed to start the unit, more than engineering expected because the sour water pumps were to small to keep up. So managment decided to drain the excess to the ground (atmos). myself and another co-worker were working 50 yards down wind at the time and decided to exit area, they set a supervisor to keep us in the area because the unit counld,nt start without the compressor we were working on. To this day the supervisor and the co-worker are deceased from cancer, and I have a strong feeling the reason is because of an over exposure to H2S & Benzene. What do you think i should do? I still can't afford to lose my job and feel if they got wind I consulted with a lawyer about this I'd be in the unemployement line.
