What do you want?? You said you were given 24 hours notice. That implies permission, as there is nothing that says you did (or could) say no. If the landlord had a right or permission, they could take pictures. I don't see any legal cause of action here. You could discuss this with an attorney, but if anything it is presenting the apartment in a false light, not your dogs or decorations, and as you don't own the apartment, I am at a loss to come up with a reason for suing your landlord.
