    No, I'm not prepared to guarantee that the landlord does not have
    insurance. Are you prepared to guarantee that even if he has insurance
    which covers this sort of thing his insurance company is going to spend this
    kind of money on principle? I have yet to see anything such as that, but
    this is why I suggested that she pursue the case pro se. She probably has
    all the time in the world and is not charging herself by the hour.

    I have successfully used these tactics on numerous occations and I know from
    firsthand experience that if she is the information she has given is
    accurate, she has a very solid case. If the landlord or his insurance
    company wants to waste money (thousands of dollars if necessary) on legal
    defenses for something like that, more power to them. As a business
    decision, it doesn't make sense though, but not everyone has sense.

    The bottem line is if the landlord has violated Federal law, he can, and
    should be held accountable.
