Post: Wrongful Termination
Posted by Angela on 8/15/06
I, among a long list of minority or otherwise women, have been terminated from a company. One of these people filed a harassment complaint against her supervisor, but then shortly afterward was terminated due to "performance issues" which were never documented or discussed. I believe can be considered retaliation? I am also in almost the same situation, I complained about my review being late, then a week later I was terminated again due to "performance issues" that were never documented or brought up for that matter prior to the review. There are inconsistencies in their documentation and only hold a few select people accountable for some of their policies. The person that fired me is running for a political position and from everything that I am learning by personal experience and from other's experiences, it is a scary thought that he will be able to represent a group as a whole!! The biggest problem...we are in Florida which is the right to work state, therefore we have no rights!!
