Slander = A false defamation (expressed in spoken words, signs, or gestures) which injures the character or reputation of a person Libel = Published material meeting three conditions: The material is defamatory either on its face or indirectly; The defamatory statement is about someone who is identifiable to one or more persons; and, The material must be distributed to someone other than the offended party; i.e. published; distinguished from slander. Free speech is covered by the 1st Amendment. Any way you look at it, you need to PROVE that they caused you damage (harm) with their statements, written or otherwise. Honestly, I'm not an attorney but you don't have a case. However, I can honestly say that from what you posted here, there isn't an (honest) attorney anywhere who will take your case. What most will see is a disgruntled employee with a score to settle against a former employee.
