I work as an apartment manager for a large property
management company. This is a subsidized for elderly and
disabled project in a small city. I have a tenant who has
been writing very negative letters to my immediate
supervisor asking him to fire me because I do not know my
job. She sends copies of all her letters to the governer
of my state, the agency that administers our subsidy, the
Human Rights Commission, etc etc. She has assisted another
tenant in filing a housing discrimination complaint
against me. Her complaints have been investigated by the
subsidy agent and found to be unfounded. Unfortunately,
this has not stopped her and she continues to write these
defamatory letters. This has prompted more scrutiny from
the subsidy agent and has caused me more work in order to
address these unfounded allegations. This has not led to
my being fired or censured, but has affected my
relationships with other tenants in the project and made
my job more difficult than it needs to be. This tenant
spreads rumors and incites the other tenants to respond to
me negatively. I have a folder in her file that is over
two inches thick with these letters. Do I have a case?
