Do you have an attorney for other kinds of issues, i.e. estate planning etc. (asking because if you have 100K in liquid assets you probably do have someone to manage your business investments at least) ask for a referral to someone who is not famous. The hot shots do only take cases they can win. The thing is, if this guy goes to work, wins the lottery, gets a large inheritance etc. and you don't have a judgment, you get nothing. I know of cases where the murderer is young and in prison for 25 years and the family still got a judgment against him on the off chance that someday he might have money. Don't give up. If nothing else, go down to the court house and look at cases that have been filed. start out pro se. Or offer to pay an attorney an hourly fee to do this. Yes, you will probably never get anything but nothing ventured nothing gained. Also have you been in touch with your state's victim of crime department? You're probably entitled to money from that fund. good luck.
