Post: Confiscation of peersonal property

Posted by Xemo on 8/20/08

My grand daughter took my wife's Blackberry to school in
violation of school rules and it was confiscated. After
hearing the news my wife went to the school to retrieve
the phone and was not allowed in the school office to see
any one in authority. She was told that she would have to
wait until the following monday - 6 days - before the
phone would be returned. The following day we called the
school to speak to the Principle who was again unavailable
but that she would call us back. Once again we were told
that the phone wouldn't be available until the following
    week. Principle never called back.

    Is this legal?
