Post: Taxation w/o representation

Posted by Tea on 8/20/08

In 1997 my wife served me with divorce papers. The divorce
was final in 1998. She was awarded the house, the
business, and all debt, including some back income taxes.
She promptly sold the house, the business collapsed and
    she filed bankruptcy.
In 2001 I was notified by the IRS that I owed them a
goodly sum. Telling them that my wife had been awarded the
honor of paying fell on deaf ears. They said she had filed
innocent spouse. I produced bank records and cancelled
checks proving otherwise. She then withdrew her I/S
defense but it was too late, the the Feds had decided that
the burden was mine and I had to cough up the money.
Nine years later I the IRS attached, without notice, my SS
for $2K because she didn't file withholding for her
company employees after I was removed from the business by
    the court.
IRS remarked that my name was on the business for part
othe year in question, we want the 2 grand, which was
    originally about $400.
My question -finally Can I sue to recover this money?
