    Post: W/C settlement Question

    Posted by cami on 5/05/09

So my husband had a really bad arm injury at work. His arm
got caught in a machine at work and was stuck there
underground for an hour. He was hanging from his arm in a
machine for that long. But anyways he ended up in the ICU
(CCU) for a few days as he lost lots of blood. He lost an
important muscle in his arm too. He lost Had all together
12 surgeries, 5 skin graphs, 2 vessel graphs, they took one
side of his abs out to use as a graph to cover some area on
his arm, he had a wound VAC, and nothing worked, his doctor
only had one more idea, and we couldn’t refuse it (it was
our only chance at him getting better). The doctor had to
scrape my husbands arm and stick it in his side, pretty
much made a pocket to put his arm in his side to re-grow
tissue, which was necessary for him to even move his
fingers ever again. So that surgery was successful…but he
still will never be able to do lots of little things,
because that muscle is gone from his arm permanently; he
will never be able to tie his own shoes or cut his own
nails, he has trouble opening door knobs and such little
things. He was off work for about a year, and now he is
back at work, with life time limitations obviously. My
question is, and I do feel bad to ask, if anyone know what
the settlement should look like??? I mean he pretty much
lost all movement of his arm and his abdominal muscle; he
had to go though a lot this year. I can tell he has been
depressed but you know how guys are they do admit to that!
The only thing we look forward to is some settlement, and
we are tired of waiting this game out!
