Post: Ruptured Disc in California

Posted by Staci Barbee on 3/09/10
My husband has been off work for 9 months. He ruptured 2 discs, and tore his rotator cuff. He was originally sent back to work on light duty, and his boss tried to force him to do his regular job. My husband injured himself more. After getting a 2nd opinion, my husband is going to have surgery to have the ruptured discs repaired. Can we also sue my husband's employer for not following the doctor's recommendation? What kind of a settlement are we looking at? My husband's job requires him to lift and install very heavy equipment, and I doubt he will be able to return to work. He's definitely going to have to go back to school. Does anyone know what the process is?
