    Since you don't say what state this occurred in, we have no
    idea what your rights are.

    I can tell you that in Missouri, you have a worker's comp
    claim for the treatment, for 2/3 of your pay while your
    doctor says you cannot return to work, and to some
    compensation for whatever disability you have when the
    treatment ends. Your employer gets to pick the doctor.

    I can also tell you that in Missouri, you can bring a
    wrongful termination action if fired in retaliation for
    filing a worker's comp claim, but only if that is the
    exclusive reason for discharge. That's tough to prove,
    especially if your employer is alleges some sort of
    misconduct.

    I have no idea whether or not any of that applies to your
    state.
