Posted by L. Gustafson on 8/02/05
I had surgery for a recurring herniated disc at L5S1 in
April 2005 . The first herniation in Feb 2004 was non-
work related but the second one was. Washington Dept of
Labor and Indstrustries accepted my claim, and paid all
medical bills and even time-loss.
In June, my surgeon said everything looks OK and don’t
come back unless it gets worse. I do have some pain still
and am unable to straighten my right leg. The doctor told
me that I might get this motion back or I may not. My
question is, am I at MMI if the doc told me not to come
back unless I have any more problems? What is the next
step in the settlement process. Who will tell me that I
am at MMI, my doctor or my claims manager? How long is
normal time for a disectomy to completely heal to MMI?
