Hello, my husband got a settlement after 1 1/2 years for a 16%
back injury and spinal surgery of $40,152 - he was offered that
amount in Hawaii - never-the-less - we never hired an attorney
and we played hard ball with them...plus we read the rules for
Hawaii and they offered us $10,000 more than the rule books said.
We would have been fine with $6,000 ....so sometimes attorneys
do complicate things and every one told us to hire an attorney
because we couldn't represent ourselves but that wasn't true.
Also if after you get offered a settlement and you want
something else you can always look into asking questions to
places like this for additional information.
