Post: not what any doctor thought

Posted by jim nolan on 7/13/07

I was hit by a truck at work while removing it's snow plow
back on Feb 6th. The truck driver moved the truck forward
because a man we work with told him to move up(this man
suffers from alzhiemers). I along with several others have
made several complaints that he shouldn't be able to work.
The truck hit my left thigh twisting me to my right the he
backed up and I was struck by the plow twisting me in the
other direction. I was told at the ER that I had a 2nd
degree MCL sprain on my left knee and they ordered an MRI.
I had the MRI done the MRI tech didn't see a whole lot
said it was mostly chrondomilasia. I took the MRI pictures
to my ortho and he put me in a hindge brace right away and
agreeded with the MCL sprain but also said I had torn my
cartlage. My work sent me to a IME who saw nothing but
maybe a MCL sprain and said I should be able to go back to
work in a few weeks. The fight went on back and fourth a
few month and they finaly let me get scoped my doctor was
expecting torn cartlage and a possible problem with the
acl be cause there was a lot of play in my leg. I did have
cartlage problems-cartlage in my knee was being shreaded
by a small fracture of my knee cap. My doctor wants to put
a button on my knee cap to help prevent any more cartlage
damage. He said I would need a TKR within ten years. My
work wants me to do work hardning p.t. and return to work
as soon as I can. I have a workmans comp lawyer. Should I
also get a civil lawyer because my work didn't provide a
safe work inviroment. I been out on workmans comp for over
5 month now I have about another 6 weeks before im healed
from this past surgery and if they do a button on my knee
cap that would be another 4 month off work. Anyone one out
    there that went through this?
