Re: Fired while on Workers Comp

Hi Bob, your tale sounds similar to mine when i hurt my back
in July 2008 at a 60-year old jewish family-run beauty supply
distributor on Long Island NY. I was employed with this
company for 2-years, and over the 2-year period as a SALARIED
employee i worked 90-days of unpaid overtime hours, and they
had the nerve to terminate me via written letter while off on
Workers Com in August saying that i had significant
performance problems. The day before receiving the letter
the rookie HR women harassed me on the phone while i was off
on Workers Comp laying on ice and in severe pain. my pain
was intense and the harassment was upsetting so i ended up
hanging up on her.
never once did they mention any performance problems. and if
there were any performance issues, it probably was related to
the excessive hours i was working!
Can you image being an IT Manager supporting over 100-users
with only 1-rookie IT technician? especially for a business
that had doubled from the previous year!
they're "CHEAP" at my expense and my health suffered. no
matter how how hard I worked, nothing was ever good enough!
sounds typical based on the variables, right?
This family-run business doesn't know who there dealing with
because I'll fight them to the end; i operate on principles.
I'm working with an attorney and they'll be sued by the State
of NY in violation of the law.
when i returned back to work against the doctors' orders the
senior citizen owner (father) ask me "how are you doing?" and
when i explained the pain severe endured and that that i was
still in physical therapy, he shuffle away like Tim Conway
and mumbled, "i don't believe you".
the day i hurt my back and dropped the printer, he was more
worried about the wellbeing of the printer and not me being
hurt. The Graphic Arts and AP Managers both heard him being
more concerned about the printer being broken than my
wellbeing. this is a man who at 3:00 PM is still
saying "good morning" to the employees!
I'm a professional employee with over 25-years of IT
expertise who had previously worked for two international
companies.
after i returned to work against the doctors orders, the rude
cry-baby sissy son consistantly told me what a wonderful job
i was doing. meanwhile, he was plotting to fire me the
entire time and laughing behind my back! the day after i was
fired me, a new IT Manager replaced me. he had been in
training the week before they fired me. the son was playing
with my mind and laughing behind my back because he was
replacing me.
they pulled the same tactics when i was hired 2-years earlier
against the IT Manager. i was trained a week prior to the IT
Manager being fired.
never in my life have i endured such behavior.
i'm quite eager to seek justice and my attorney is very good.
i also alerted the Controller several times over a 2-year
period that the company was not compliant with end-user
Microsoft licensing and owed over $20,000. the company was
guilty of software piracy. and the daughter consistantly
insisted that i purchase Microsoft Home and School version of
MS Office for their business that they reaped millions in
profits. The Home and School version is NOT to me used for
business.
can you imagine conducting business in such an unethical
manner?
they consistantly ignore me and never took my professional
advise seriously.
lets pray to God that they successfully are sued for their
unethical behavior.
email me directly at cr5759@yahoo.com to discuss your
situation.
cheers!
Carl
