I am a recent law school Graduate and hence I have a JD but
I am not admitted to practice law in DC or any state. Having
gotten that important legal statement out of the way, there
are countless things I can do for you - as a sole
practitioner who needs occasional help finishing a project
or doesn't want to run to Court at 8 P.M. to file papers, to
the larger firms who might want to hire me on a temporary
basis to do document review and the like, to the law firm
out in the middle of the country who simply needs their
brief printed the correct number number of times, put in the
correct envelope, stapled in the right place, and delivered
to the US Court of Appeals prior to midnight.
I have access to Lexis and Westlaw, and have references
(professional, personal, and academic references) as well as
samples of my work.
My fees are fair and flexible, depending on the nature of
the work (research is obviously more expensive than simply
being here to receive a document and deliver it to the
correct courthouse), and I will work on either an hourly or
per assignment basis. Generally, my rates are between $20
and $30/hour, in addition to a flat fees for traveling,
printing, and faxes if they are needed. Discounts for repeat
clients, long assignments, non-profits, and to attorneys
working on cases for the indigent or special public
defenders appointed by the court to represent the criminally
accused.
I work fast but not at the expense of quality and accuracy,
