Description
Most of our work is done from our homes and only involves
a computer, telephone, scanner and printer. We assist the
soon to be released prisoners, with supportive reentry
resources via research and referrals to such agencies as
counseling, housing, employment and/or any other resources
that may help to assure the released individual,
stability, structure and productivity in their home and in
the community.
Our work also involves networking with advocating
coalitions, which does involve attendance at meetings and
resource contacts in the communities nationwide. Outreach
Workers may, when necessary, but not often, work with
family members of prisoners, sharing supportive resources,
We are also seeking outreach workers to go the prisons to
meet with the long-term and lifers, in order to assist
with legal research and other supportive services in
addition to meeting with the soon to be released prisoners
to discuss aftercare services that NVO may provide.
