there are great possibilities! We currently have a
career opportunity for an Intellectual Property Paralegal
at the North American headquarters located in the Thousand
Oaks/Simi Valley area. Zodiac is a leader in designing,
manufacturing and marketing a broad range of well-
recognized products including inflatable boats for
professional and recreational use, life rafts and swimming
pool products.
This position will support the Corporate Counsel of the
company in a fast-paced environment and will be
responsible for assisting in the management of the
intellectual property portfolio of several North American
subsidiaries. Candidates should have an Associate of Arts
or Bachelors degree, and/or completion of an ABA-approved
paralegal program with at least three to five years
experience in an intellectual property paralegal or
intellectual specialist role.
The candidate must have (i) significant experience with
both patent and trademark law; (ii) experience in managing
large portfolios and keeping track of annuities, renewals
and registrations; (iii) ability to assist the company’s
General Counsel and Corporate Counsel with patent and
trademark infringement actions; and (iv) a basic
understanding of other corporate practice areas. The
candidate will be expected to perform substantive legal
work of limited to moderate scope and complexity under the
supervision of an attorney. The candidate needs excellent
technical skills in the area of MS Word, Excel and
PowerPoint, and an interest in learning other new
software, as needed.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are
essential. The candidate must have the ability to think
and work independently and possess excellent time
management skills in order to meet goals and deadlines
under sometimes pressured conditions. The candidate must
provide work product in a manner that shows a
comprehensive understanding of the business needs of the
company and be resourceful and reliable in handling and
completing matters.

candidate will be required to exercise discretion and
sound judgment concerning confidential information. The
candidate must conduct all activities in a manner, which
is at all times fair, moral, ethical, and legal.
