Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation is a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced helicopters for commercial, industrial and military uses. Sikorsky helicopters are used by all five branches of the United States armed forces, along with military services and commercial operators in more than 40 nations. Based in Stratford, Connecticut, USA, Sikorsky has outlying facilities in other Connecticut locations as well as in Florida and Alabama.

Contract Specialist duties of this position include the drafting, interpretation and management of contract documents in support of Sikorsky Aerospace Services U.S. Government contracts.

Sikorsky Aerospace Services consists of the various business and operating units within Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (Sikorsky) responsible for the wide range of aftermarket support solutions (spares and repair sales, fleet management, power by the hour contracts, and logistics support, technical publications, maintenance services) offered to fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft operators worldwide.

The Contract Specialist will join a team of 8 other Contract specialists dedicated to supporting the U.S. Government contracts-based portion of Sikorsky Aerospace Service(`9s business.

Key to this function shall be strong in-depth experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations and related Supplements (FARs and DFARS) and an ability to work closely and flexibly with diverse business groups within Sikorsky and with external customers. This position is responsible for managing flow of all input required from other support organizations for contract documents, reviewing and coordinating documents in accordance with customer schedules and requests, and ensuring that documents are properly reflective of company business objectives. The candidate must be able to draft high quality contractual documents quickly and accurately and identify legal and business issues for management review as appropriate.

This position is dynamic and requires significant adaptability, interpersonal interaction, a focus on strong document drafting skills, an understanding of aerospace business and legal issues, continuous currency with U.S. Government contracting changes, and the coordination of input from various sources for clarity and to recapitulate the concepts in document form for interpretation by internal and external clients. The position requires good project management skills in order to meet internal and external customer requirements. The tasks are schedule driven and may require overtime and/or occasional travel.

Administrative aspects of the position include responsibility for: compliance with UTC, and Sikorsky policies and procedures related to document preparation and approval, conformance with Sarbanes-Oxley and ISO 9000 documentation requirements; communication of department and company business objectives; and contract management support.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS degree with focus in English, Business, Finance, or related field,

4-7+ years experience. An MBA, MSM, MS, JD, MS or other related graduate degree is preferred.
