The attorney in this position will be responsible for handling a full range of legal matters that arise in connection with the development, issuance, administration and distribution of traditional, universal and variable individual life insurance offered by Prudential.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Providing legal advice and support to the individual life insurance claim unit with respect to claim determination and/or contract interpretation issues and proposed revisions to the claims handling rules and procedures related to individual life insurance coverage issued by Prudential.
Providing legal advice and support to both the individual life new business and post-issue operations areas on various issues related to the underwriting, issuance and post-issue administration of individual life insurance policies.
Managing litigation concerning individual life insurance claims and other issues related to Prudentials individual life insurance products. This would include working with outside counsel as well as our internal clients on all aspects related to this litigation.
Assisting in the development of individual life insurance products, as well as modification to existing products and services.
Drafting contracts, memoranda and other documentation relating to the offering, distribution or administration of individual insurance products.
Required Skills & Experience
The candidate must have a minimum of 2-5 years of corporate, law firm, in-house and/or regulatory legal experience involving state insurance, SEC, FINRA and other laws and regulations applicable to all types of individual life insurance. Experience involving group life and/or disability insurance, group health insurance, individual health insurance will be considered.
