The Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services (PRERS) Law unit of Prudential Financial, Inc. seeks an experienced attorney to provide legal support to the PRERS organization. PRERS is comprised of the following business units:
• Prudential Relocation (PRI), a global relocation service provider with an established client base ranging from Fortune 500 companies to U.S. government agencies
• Prudential Real Estate Affiliates (PREA), a real estate brokerage franchisor with more than 2100 franchise offices and approximately 68000 sales professionals in the franchise network in the US, Canada and Mexico
• Prudential Real Estate Financial Services of America (PREFSA), the financing arm of PREA that provides debt/equity financing to franchisees
PRERS is headquartered in Irvine, CA with offices in Phoenix, AZ; Washington, DC; and Shelton, CT. PRERS' international offices are located in Toronto, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and Beijing.
This position will be based in Shelton, CT reporting to the PRERS Chief Legal Officer.
Primary responsibilities will include providing legal support and guidance to PRERS on a broad range of general corporate, real estate and other legal issues affecting the company; providing contract support across PRERS; managing litigation arising out of the PRERS businesses; promoting the organization's visibility through participation in various industry associations; and developing legal policies to ensure organizational compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have at least seven (7) years of experience in a law firm or corporate law department environment as well as:
• Strong management skills
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to learn related areas of law impacting on the activities of the various PRERS businesses
• Ability to coordinate and supervise numerous and complex matters
• Experience negotiating and drafting transactional agreements
• A strong client focus and an ability to team with internal and external business clients, including willingness to explore new ways of serving the clients in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel to PRERS' domestic and/or international offices as requested
