Under attorney supervision, the Senior Contract Specialist will work on technology law matters and will be expected to independently handle the drafting, negotiating, and administering of Purchase Orders, Engagement Schedules, and appropriate extension and renewal documents to various contracts including master Software License Agreements, Software Development Agreements, Consulting Services Agreements, Maintenance Service Agreements, and Application Service Provider Agreements.

The Senior Contract Specialist will also be responsible for handling Market Data Agreements, Shrink-wrap Software Licenses, Consulting Engagement Letters, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Software Trial Evaluation and Beta Agreements, Training Services Agreements, Speaker Agreements, and miscellaneous other contract documents as well as internet download requests and open source software reviews.

The Senior Contract Specialist will also work independently on significant technology related contracts and projects, including, but not limited to complex and sensitive:

(i) Outsourcing transactions, including due diligence, contract analysis and review, contract schedule and change order drafting, and responsibility for post-execution contract management and administration,
(ii) company-wide or large scale business unit initiatives that relate to technology contracting issues (for example, contract review and analysis of technology contracting issues inherent in mergers and acquisitions, changes in contract provisions required by changes in the law and Prudential corporate policies.

The Senior Contract Specialist will also work on various projects generated as a result of the Group’s contracts database. Generally, the role of the Senior Contract Specialist is to assist the Technology Law attorneys by taking significant responsibility for protecting the interests of the Company and for consolidating and exercising the buying power of the corporation through aggressive negotiation and enforcement of enterprise pricing arrangements.

Required Skills & Experience:
* BA/B.S., preferably in business, law, or information technology; is strongly desired
* 3 years contract professional or similar experience in computer and intellectual property law and contracts with law firm or corporation; or law degree;
* The candidate should have strong project management and organization skills
* The candidate will be required to skillfully draft documents and revise agreements based on business deal parameters
* The candidate will be required to balance multiple projects simultaneously, always moving projects forward and keeping Technology Law Staff and Business Units advised of status
* The candidate must have excellent written and oral communications, work well with attorneys and information technology business personnel, and be able to effectively communicate in order to understand business deal requirements
* The candidate must be able to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
* The candidate must have the ability to identify, analyze and summarize contract terms and conditions and contract issues
* The candidate should have expertise and extensive experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Lotus Notes.
