Plantex USA, Inc. is the sales and marketing office for the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) division of Teva. Teva's Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients Division is a stand alone business unit of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Limited. Founded in the 1930's, Teva's API Division has established itself over the years as a leading API supplier worldwide. Teva API Division offers a broad spectrum of active pharmaceutical ingredients for the worldwide generic pharmaceutical industry.
Position Summary:
Provide analysis and counsel on legal, policy, and environmental issues. Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the company in connection with, but not limited too new product development and supply contracts. Develop and recommend company policy and position on legal issues.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead all legal matters in the North American Business Unit of Teva's API division
Draft and negotiate customer supply agreements
Draft and negotiate CDA's with customers and customer attorneys
Coordinate activities of BU with guidances from Teva USA legal and Teva corporate.
Involved in the activities at the manufacturing sites (supply agreements, environmental, regulatory, etc.) and should have a drive to accept additional responsibilities.
Review counsel's work products
Manage and track the progress of work performed by outside counsel.
General:
Provide legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits.
Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the company.
Develop and recommend company policy and position on legal issues.
Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues.
Represent the Company or its officials in various legal proceedings.
Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents.
Write and administer complex vendor, client, and employment contracts.
Develop and recommend of operating policy and procedural improvements.
Other duties as assigned
Follows Teva Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned or as business needs require.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
J.D. with a minimum of five (5) years experience, experience in the generic pharmaceutical industry preferred
Membership in a US Bar Association
Previous experience with commercial supply, partnership and licensing agreements; the ability to provide general legal oversight of a sales/commercial office.
Compliance counseling particular to pharmaceuticals or chemicals or equivalent compliance enforcement experience with a government agency preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent judgment and negotiation sills..
Working knowledge of MS Project and MS Access and familiarity with Lotus Notes, preferred.
Travel Requirements: 10-15% travel
