* Implement and maintain Safety and Environmental programs in support of regulations and company policies and procedures
* Serve as program coordinator for the Hazard Communication Program while reviewing chemicals introduced into facility
* Act as emergency response team coordinator and oversee coordination of team training and procurement of response equipment and supplies
* Oversee the development and implementation of facility written procedures; work with production and maintenance to assess requirements and suitability of machine guarding systems
* Oversee fire safety and fire prevention programs
* Oversee compliance with powered industrial truck program and conduct routine evaluation of driving and record keeping; ensure the facility operates and maintains storage racks in compliance with regulations
* Conduct required noise and dosimeter surveys, develop and maintain written program; ensure eyewash facilities are provided and maintained
* Assist with developing and maintaining inventory of Personal Protective Equipment
* Manage the contractor evaluation process and develop/maintain file of approved contractors
* Assist the facility with the development and maintenance of a Safety Committee
* Work with operations to develop Job Hazard Analysis and develop/implement an accident prevention program
* Work with HR to collect data required to maintain OSHA logs and manage WC claims
* Oversee characterization, labeling and storage of non-hazardous and hazard waste systems
* Assist facility with compliance with regulations for Storm Water Management programs; develop and maintain Best Management Practices and the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-5 years experience in Safety and Environmental Management
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Working knowledge of Safety and Environmental regulations
* Desired certifications: ASP, CSP, CHMM, or other industry-accepted certification programs
* Background in Explosive manufacturing safety and AFT regulations desired
* OSHA 501 certified or the completion of the 501 class within the first year
