The BAE Systems Products Group manufactures and sells a broad range of high quality equipment marketed under the world's most well-recognized brands in law enforcement, federal government and military communities. Products manufactured by this group include concealable and tactical body armor, hard armor, duty gear, less-lethal munitions, anti-riot products, police batons, emergency lighting products, forensic products, firearms accessories, weapon maintenance products, foldable ladders, backpacks and specialty gloves.
PURPOSE:
Responsible for the preparation of license applications and agreements for the export of technical data, hardware, and services and coordination of imports in accordance with company policy and U.S. Government export regulations and laws.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Prepares, submits and administers export licenses, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLA), Temporary Admission (ATA) Carnets, import certificates and miscellaneous correspondence to the Department of State and Department of Commerce.
•If appointed by the Lead Empowered Official, will perform the function of Export Compliance Officer (ECO).
•As requested by the LOB Lead, Reviews proposals, contracts and/or purchase orders and participates in technical programmatic discussion/meetings for all LOB products.
•Coordinates with appropriate program personnel to review provisos on licenses and agreements to ensure business and customer requirements can be met by the license or agreement.
•As requested by LOB Lead, will assist in the review and approval of presentations, briefings, documents and other information provided to foreign persons for compliance with licenses and regulations prior to release outside the company.
•Prepare and coordinate shipments of unclassified and classified, if classified with the BAE Security and Defense Security Services (DSS). Coordinates all international hardware and software shipments with the Traffic/Shipping Department and invoices, carnets, etc.). Coordinates imports of unclassified and classified hardware with foreign parties to ensure proper customs paperwork is included and shipment is authorized under proper license exemptions.
•If requested by LOB Export Manager or Director, Exports, will possess the ability to perform export training to all new employees, current employees and special programs.
•If requested, provides BAE Systems, Inc. and/or government agencies with any required assistance or information needed during the review of license application.
•Maintains export related record keeping functions in the LOB as required by law.
•Maintains the export licensing database for storing and tracking BAE Systems export licensing history. Prepares and distributes periodic reports on licensing status for use by LOB personnel as requested.
•Provides assistance to LOB personnel on export related questions.
•Reviews and approves Foreign Visitor and International Travel authorization.
•Statuses licenses in-process and pending at the Department of State via Internet. Maintains license files as well as a database of current and expired license files, and issues reports on pending and approved licenses/approvals such as ITAR Exemptions, etc.
•Remains knowledgeable in ITAR and Export administration (Commerce Regulations) by attending various seminars and/or BAE Systems training.
•Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Requires a Bachelor's Degree plus five plus (5+) years experience or equivalent related work experience.
• Must have advanced knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Excellent communications skills both written and oral.
