Paralegal with Gentiva, you will:
•Review and analyze employee data (i.e. payroll data, HR data, EEO statistics) and write responses to all internal and agency complaints/EEO charges/DOL and OPCCP audits.
•Collect Requests-For-Information as needed, analyze data and prepare/submit Statements of Position in a timely manner necessary to prepare factual summaries.
•Work with Legal Department staff/field personnel via phone or on-site visits to respond to employment legal questions and discrimination charges/wage and hour complaints. Keep attorney informed of complaints and charges.
•Respond to branch inquiries regarding subpoenas and assist in determining appropriate documents to provide and actions to take.
•Assist with projects for Attorneys by obtaining specific factual information (e.g., documents and client information), and legal information (i.e., statutes, regulations, recorded judicial decisions and legal articles).
•Draft restrictive covenant letters and other miscellaneous correspondence for Attorneys as needed.
Qualifications
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•Paralegal Certificate or the relevant experience
•A minimum of two years experience working in a legal office or similar environment generally required
•Knowledge of legal research techniques
•Effective communication skills
