Our client is seeking person to act as IP Counsel. Will transition IP licensing activities from outside counsel to an in-house capability. Are you ready for the challenge? This position will report to the Director of Licensing.
Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to all licensing officers with IP/licensing related legal issues, including advice and legal guidance on negotiation of license agreements, terms of agreements, questions on modification to the standard agreements, statements to third parties and NDA Agreements.
Prepare license agreements for all current licensing programs.
Assist in the ongoing licensing activity, including license negotiations and post-licensing maintenance work for North American companies.
Coordinate outside counsel and manage budget for same.
Manage litigation and support for US litigation and enforcement.
Provide assistance to business development activities in the drafting of agreements with patent owners or other potential suppliers of IP Rights.
Will be involved in corporate governance matters and other general corporate transactional issues.
Requirements:
Undergraduate work in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar field.
J.D. with experience in Contract Law, Patent Law, and Intellectual Property.
