The selected candidate will report directly to the General Counsel of Raytheon International, Inc. (RII) and Vice President (Legal) of Raytheon’s Washington Office ("RWO").
Responsibilities:
-Provide advice concerning the processes involved in the screening and retention of international sales representatives (including advice regarding anti-corruption regimes such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act)
-Provide advice regarding foreign sanctions and embargoes; advising regarding international joint ventures, teaming agreements and Raytheon’s international subsidiaries;
-Provide advice concerning the establishment, operation and closure of offices in foreign jurisdictions; retention and termination of RII employees at foreign office sites.
-As directed by the RII General Counsel, duties will include advising the RII/International Business Development staff in its pursuit of international business opportunities.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
· Jurist Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and must be a member in good standing of the California Bar or member in good standing of bar of another state and eligible for in-house CA Bar membership
· 10 - 12 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal experience in government and commercial contracting
· Experience with internal investigations (ethics/compliance in an international environment) is desirable.
· Working knowledge of and experience with FAR, DFARS, and other government laws and regulation, and with analysis, drafting and negotiation of contracts and contract claims
· Knowledge in international business and M&A business
· Integrity, leadership, organizational, communications, interpersonal, analytical and motivational skills; and will be a team player. S/he will be a strategic planner, proactive, a decision-maker, and a problem solver
· Analytical mind and the ability to identify issues and provide and support solutions to address them
· Ability to work cooperatively with other attorneys and business teammates
