CONFLICTS/CALENDAR COORDINATOR
The Conflicts/Calendar Coordinator receives from attorneys and secretaries names and relationships of all entities related to proposed new matters; performs conflicts searches on AS400; reviews and pre-screens reports; and routes or e-mails reports to billing partners with analyses of ?hits.? The Conflicts/Calendar Coordinator receives and enters information into the CompuLaw Rule-based calendar system; provides chronological events lists for daily case management; and prepares reports tailored to requirements of individual timekeepers for cases in various jurisdictions. The Conflicts/Calendar Coordinator provides orientation for all new legal staff and training sessions as needed; develops policies and procedures; and interfaces with COO, CFO and IT regarding ongoing updates and daily management of programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Enters search parameters into AS400 conflicts checking system and CompuLaw rule-based calendar system providing time-sensitive reports to attorneys;
Responsible for setting up new users, new matters, new court locations;
Modification of operational parameters, i.e., required information fields for e-mail notifications;
Reviews and analyzes data generated by programs using set guidelines, eliminates extraneous data; provides maintenance of historical reports;
Creates and provides periodic reports to attorneys for daily case management of calendared events;
Reviews conflict search reports; provides analyses to partners;
Assists in the development and implementation of the conflict and docketing procedures manual; and
Provides reports, prescreens and recommendations regarding potential conflicts for lateral ?partners? and new hire staff with oral/written summaries to HR and as needed.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Law firm experience or paralegal certification;
Must be a professional, courteous, energetic team player, ready to assist with various requests that require immediate response;
Familiarity with civil procedures, both state and federal; extensive litigation background;
Ability to communicate and interact well with attorneys, secretaries and paralegals;
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks; and
Proficiency with conflict and calendaring software.
