General Description:
Incumbent will provide legal advice and services to management. Primary focus will be on global transaction matters, including litigation arising therefrom. Primary accountabilities include creating, developing, analyzing and reviewing contracts/agreements pertaining to acquisitions, supply and distribution, construction, real estate, manufacturing, etc., to fulfill the business needs of Alcon and its affiliates worldwide; counseling management with respect to legal issues concerning employment, general compliance, or other legal issues; selecting, retaining and managing outside counsel; and managing paralegals and administrative assistants.
Minimum Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree and J.D. from an accredited law school, admission or eligibility for admission to the State Bar plus 7 years post J.D. experience in transactional or health care/compliance law. Required skills include knowledge of healthcare industry with general knowledge in fraud and abuse laws, Medicare/Medicaid regulations and antitrust laws; excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; solid time management skills; high attention to detail; and ability to work with energy, tenacity, and a high sense of urgency.
Preferred Qualifications:
Corporate legal experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry. Member of American Bar Association and/or American Corporate Counsel.
