Post: Notice from Office of Inspector General

Posted by CR on 10/14/09
On Monday I received a letter in the mail stating that the Office of Inspector General has reason to believe that I have been overpaid in Food Stamps, Medicaid or WIC. I called them and they were very rude and refused to disclose any informaiton to me over the phone. When I asked them if there was anything I should bring to the "meeting",the gentleman said: " Whatever you want" I have an eerie feeling about this. Should I be concerned. Am I being accused of to the point that I should not meet these people without an attorney. The bottom of the letter states that I have the right to consult an attorney, however the meeting is tomorrow. 3 days was not enough notice to get accurate legal advice. Any suggestions?
