Post: Change in Job Description

Posted by w. on 5/08/09

I have been working at a place for 4 years (2 years on and
off and 2 years full time). I was hired to be a
receptionist and accounting clerk, I was also hired without
a drivers license and it was never apart of my job
description or a problem. Now I have been told that I have
30 days to attain my license or I will be placed on unpaid
leave until I do so. I was told that on May 29th when my
(full time) 2 year anniversary came up that it would be
added into my job description and that I have to comply
with the rules. I was used to the teasing and "bettering
myself" conversations about not having my license and being
21 then I was told that it is apart of the rules as of May
    29th 2009 - They are upset that I wouldn't sign a document
saying I have 30 days to obtain the license and that I am
also on probation until I do so. Do I have no choice in the
matter? (especially since I have anxiety even being in a
car - which they think I joke about...)
