Post: Overtime Pay/Unstable Work Environment

Posted by Robert on 9/18/09
I am interested in finding out whether or not my employer is breaking the law. I am an LVN who is an LVN instructor in Southern California (I have a masters degree in an unrelated subject). I am working at least 20 hours of overtime a week and am not getting paid for it. Additionally, I am working sometimes about 20 days straight (not by volunteering). Is this right, and am I exempt under California law from overtime under the licensed and learned professionals exemption? If you think I may have a case I would like to speak with you. Post your contact information here and I will contact you, but I will not post my contact information for fear my employer will find out. I look forward to hearing your reply.
